A new study
has revealed that people suffering from asthma can improve their cardiovascular
fitness and overall quality of life by doing appropriate exercise programs.
The study
found that appropriate exercise programs can provide valuable benefits to
people having problems related to asthma. It can help to reduce the severity of
attacks or prevent them.
There exists
a fear among asthma patients that physical exercise generally worsen the
condition
During the
study, all the participants engaged in whole body aerobic exercise as using a
treadmill or swimming which lasts 20 to 30 minutes, two or three times weekly.
Participants tolerated, the exercise well. Suffering no adverse effects due to
the exertion.
None of the
study participants experienced worse symptoms after participation. The training
programs improved the subjects, cardio pulmonary fitness, as measured by an
increase in their oxygen intake.
Generally,
the team of researchers found that the asthma patients involved in the study responded
to physical training in a similar manner to people without asthma complaints.
